Developing Social and
Emotional Skills in Children

Healthy Interactions.

Social and emotional competence is the ability to interact with others, regulate one's own emotions and behavior, solve problems, and communicate effectively. Children who are socially and emotionally competent have: healthy self-esteem and self-confidence.

Focusing on social and emotional competence in day care programs increases children’s self-perceptions, positive social behaviors, and the ability to make friends.  It also results in a significant reduction in problem behavior/s. In this workshop participants will learn how to create games, activities and group projects which teach social skills and support children's social and emotional development.
