What is a live webinar?
A live webinar is a hosted video training event on the internet - you can access our professional development from the comfort of your office or home. You will be invited to our virtual live training session where you can follow along with video and audio. You will need a microphone and camera on your device (computer, ipad, smartphone) to access the training.  Our webinars are held through Zoom and you will receive an invitational e-mail the evening before the workshop.

Helping adults succeed is a journey which occurs over a period of time. This workshop will show directors how to help staff succeed by practicing DAP for adults, setting realistic expectations, and overcoming barriers to success.

Participants will learn:

  2. How to set realistic expectations and communicate  effectively.

  3. How to communicate your expectations in a clear, and specific manner.

  4. How to coach staff to success.

  5. The difference between an excuse and a barrier.

Create a Culture That Encourages Input and Allows for Mistakes

As a leader, your greatest strength is the staff. When a director's team is actively engaged in performing their responsibilities and looking for ways to improve their skills, then you are doing your job; you are motivating and teaching adults. During this workshop participants will learn how to create a safe place for staff to provide input, and perform their best.

Participants will learn:

Communicating Consistently and Honestly 

As Early Childhood Educators we are usually very nurturing people, sensitive to the feelings of others and eager to resolve or avoid conflict. These are great traits, especially when caring for children. Sometimes, however, these nurturing traits and tendencies to avoid conflict help us from communicating honestly with each other. During this workshop participants will learn how, what and when to honestly communicate with staff.

Participants will learn:

  1. How to communicate honestly and consistently.

  2. How to observe, document and consult with staff

  3. How to help even if it is difficult.

  4. Ways to communicate information.

  5. How to effectively run a meeting.

Who sets the tone, the feeling you get when you walk into a centre or play room? The director does. As a leader, your attitude sets the tone of the environment. In this workshop participants will learn how to set a positive tone in a child care centre and what should  they do when others are disrespectful.
