Setting the Childcare Environment

The Environment is Key.

Environments which are well-designed will allow children to explore, to engage in focused, self-directed play. If the environment is well-designed, it will allow the children to build strong relationships, feel secure, and explore in play areas where they can play both independently and with others.

Setting up a safe place to play and providing appropriate toys and activities based on children's interests supports children's learning, and reduces behavior problems.

During this workshop participants will learn how to evaluate their program environments and engage in discuss and activities to enhance these environments.
